Bahrain Polytechnic, supported by the Bahrain Economic Development Board, signed a partnership agreement with Apple to establish Bahrain’s first Apple Authorized Training Center which will be located at the university campus and will offer Apple-certified courses and accreditation for students and professionals in the Kingdom who are interested to develop coding and designing skills.
The center will be the second Apple authorized center in the region and will be operated by Apple certified trainers from Bahrain Polytechnic who will deliver these courses by using Apple Pro Training Series textbooks, which will enable students to acquire creative and critical thinking skills to further develop their coding skills.
H.E. Engineer Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Bahrain Polytechnic and Minister of Electricity and Water, said: “This announcement reflects our commitment to upskilling Bahraini talents and empowering our human capital to compete internationally. In addition, this is also aligned with the Kingdom’s ICT and Digital Economy sector strategy which was announced as part of the Economic Recovery Plan and led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.”
Bahrain Polytechnic CEO, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, said: “This center will enable us to continue offering programs that are aligned with the requirements of the labor market and beyond. It is not just limited to Bahrain Polytechnic students as the center will offer courses that are available for industry partners and organizations seeking to acquire such technical skills and knowledge.”
Bahrain Polytechnic was established in 2008 to provide educational and training needs to upskill Bahraini talent and fill the gap in proficiencies required for the labor market by offering professional and technical qualifications.
