Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Junk Kouture, the world’s largest sustainable youth fashion program, was delighted to exhibit at the second edition of the World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE). The event took place at Dubai Exhibition Centre Expo 2020 from Tuesday, December 7 to Thursday, December 9. Junk Kouture and WCCE joined forces through art, to elevate the importance of creativity within the economy, targeting a younger audience.
Launched in 2018, the WCCE is a global gathering of entrepreneurs, creatives, policymakers and world-leading speakers. Dedicated to showcasing the industry’s latest innovations and technologies, it invites business leaders from across the globe to share knowledge, analyze trends and debate ideas about creating a sustainable creative economy.
Meanwhile, the Junk Kouture World Tour, which arrived in the UAE earlier this year, is providing vital education about climate change and sustainability. Through challenging students to make fashion out of recyclable materials and tapping into the rich cultural heritage of the UAE, the program promotes creative expression amongst young people, whilst also tackling environmental issues. This creative journey granted students the opportunity to design, create and model wearable couture, and compete to secure a place in the Junk Kouture World Final in September 2022.
